The RetroLovely Story: Since 2010

We began work on Retro Lovely in 2009 and our March 2010 launch was groundbreaking. We've grown by leaps and bounds over the years and are now home to nine primary publications along with many specialty titles. Scroll to learn a bit more about each of our brands.

Our last mass produced issue was released in 2013. In those 3 years we published 22 issues and distributed nearly 100,000 physical print copies to fans via our online store and in brick and mortar stores all over the world. We originally published our issues using traditional offset printing with each issue numbering in the thousands. We are now entering a new era where we will employ digital presses for our print copies along with online digital versions being available. Retro Lovely has developed into a publishing house with several titles within the pinup - alternative world.

Gothika:

This is a highly popular international alternative culture publication focusing heavily on alternative fashion, gothic glamour, and dark pin-up styles. They regularly host specialized photoshoots where models and alternative artists can submit their photography to be published across their ongoing volume series.

Cassandra:

This publication features Boudoir, Fantasy, Fashion and Fine Art model imagery. Elegant vintage glamour, classic pinup styling, and high-fashion beauty portraits.

If Retro Lovely had a kid sister, it would be Kat Club. For this title we accept work that's possibly a bit less polished in execution as what we feature in Retro Lovely but it's every bit as fun. Sometimes we see terrific work but there's just a bit more fly away hairs or wrinkled wardrobe, or perhaps blown highlights and lost shadows that would be noticed by imaging professionals yet the models look amazing and would have other models squeal "OMG I LOVE THIS". As you can see from the cover samples, it's brilliant on its own.

Retro Lovely. The title that started it all.

Retro Lovely features the highest quality pinup images we can find. Launched in 2010 it quickly became the standard bearer.

This title has a high standard of quality. Fewer than 50% of submissions made to Retro Lovely are accepted for it.

Taboo Edition:

This is an adults-only, all-nude spin-off publication of Retro Lovely, which is widely recognized as the largest print publisher of classic pinup photography in the world. While the main Retro Lovely magazine captures traditional, stylized vintage pinups, the Taboo Edition focuses on spicier, racier, and entirely uncensored/nude glamour photography. It still heavily maintains the brand's core 1950s-style vintage aesthetic and mid-century flavor.

Godiva:

One of our newest, and incredibly well received publications devoted to Beauty, Glamour, Boudoir and all things feminine. You may see some sheer and implied nudity in this magazine but it is all extremely tasteful. This title has a high standard of quality.

Venus Cult:

Venus Cult is an alternative fashion, art, and photography print magazine launched in 2014. Showcases subcultures, alternative aesthetics, gothic apparel, glamour, and creative portraiture.
