SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

--NO WATERMARKS OR LOGOS:

—PLEASE do not submit phone images! ONLY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS. No selfies. No screenshots.

—Do not overuse skin blurring apps. I’m seeing very heavy handed blurring and it looks bad. Facetune is a mess.

—All photography should be sized to fit 8.5x11(vertical) & 17x11(horizontal) pages at 300DPI.

—Resize your images. 3 by 4 Ratio is best. Do not crop in camera.

—Use SRGB color profile.(srgb iec61966-2.1)

—Images should all be color correct. Please check your image sets and make all the colors match your subjects skin color.

—Only the best work will get a cover.

—Watch horizon lines. If the image does not fit a layout you may be declined a cover or pages.

—Check focus! Please do not submit out of focus images or blurry shots. They will not be used!

—Check your photoshop skills. I am seeing many badly composited images. If I can clearly see the cut out. I will not use the image.

—Please include more than one pose. I need multiple options to create a layout. If all the images are the same they will not be excepted.

—Create image sets with a cohesive story. Do not have the model in several different outfits that say nothing about the story.

—Use one outfit per image set or concept.

—Leave room for text. Do not crop tight to your subject if you want a cover option.

—Include vertical and horizontal image in your set.

—I have seen many people submit for publication and then never sign the submission after being excepted.

—I will send 3 emails with links to the release. After that the submission will be locked and you will NOT be published.

—Watch your spam and junk folders. If you do not sign you will NOT be in an issue.

—If your work does not comply you may be declined.

—IMAGE FILES ARE NOW ONLY ACCEPTED IN .JPG File types.

—Images should be at least 2250 pixels by 3300 pixels in size.

—ONLY WORK CROPPED TO 8.5 x 11 inches, at 300dpi witha minimum .25 inch bleed/safe zone will be considered for covers.

—4 IMAGES MINIMUM REQUIRED for publication.

—6 PAGE MINIMUM for cover consideration

MODELS - talk to your photographers BEFORE YOU SHOOT. Let them know you want to submit for publication. TELL THEM YOU WANT FINAL CROPS at 8.5 x 11 inches and a minimum of 300 dpi. Additionally space should be left around the subject for the trimming part of the production of an issue. Space at the top where the masthead is is also advised. EVERY DAY we see STUNNING work we can't use as covers because the photographers FILL THE FRAME, that format won't work. They also need to consider the pages need to be trimmed so SPACE is needed around you or things get cut off. YOU COULD BE LOSING OUT ON COVERS.
